A writer writes

regardless of the outcome,

sometimes thinking of the impact,

and others because of the need

to empty the mind.

A writer writes

after staring at a blank page,

choosing letters, commas and dots

to fill endless sheets with lines.

A writer writes

afternoon, day and night,

awake and while dreaming,

when inspiration finds its way

through the open spaces

of fissures and cracks

to guide the hand as it writes

the tales wishing to outlast time.
