Poem 210131

Wanting to advance,

we sometimes forget

the responsibility we inherit

when the gift of discovery

is bestowed upon us.

Blindsided by the wish

to surpass the present and past,

we bend the rules

forgetting that evolution

has its own timeline,

its own rules of stepping forward.

Let’s rest assure when we move

any pieces on the board,

Mother Nature has already

adapted and evolved.
