Burning Thoughts

Burning thoughts

rise

by the inevitable transition

of a day about to end.

A mute wind travels

wanting not to be noticed

meeting a loud brightness

at the eminent moment

it fights against the sunset

to keep hearing the murmurs

of a millennial past.

A day wishing to stay bright

as it attempts

to guess the unspoken thoughts

of curious minds passing by,

to keep track of the various sounds

some soft, others loud.

And as the second of change breaks,

burning thoughts come and go

aware that tomorrow

the battle to survive

will once again be fought.
